Glasgow Museums has a collection of approximately 360 objects from Iran. These date from about 800 to 1899.

This collection contains carpets representing several types, such as North West Perisans, West Persians, South Perisan, Ardabil, Ispahans, Indo-Ispahans and Kirmans. Metal objects include candlesticks, mortars, incense burners, a dagger, tent mount, mirror, grill, cauldron and small winged lion figure. Ceramics, which originate from the Kashan, Hamadan, Nishapur, Sultanabad and Garrus regions, include slipwares, Seljuk lusterwares and Mina’i, Ilkhanid Lajvardina, Safavid blue and white, and other types. The collection also holds coins, textiles and costume, glass, Safavid arms and armour, and other ethnographic material.
