President's gold medal and chain. Oval medal with Glasgow Coat-of-Arms motif flanked by Arms of Angus and Mearns on obverse, engraved 'Glasgow Angus and Mearns Benevolent Society Instituted 1838. President's Medal Subscribed for and presented by Members of the Society, 1886. Instituted 1838'. Reverse, 'Never weary in welldoing. Officebearers 1886. Earl of Kintore, Patron. President John Davidson. Vice President William Kennedy. Treasurer James Irons. Secretary Stuart Spence. Each of the links of the chains engraved with names of office bearers.
