Curator of Medieval and Renaissance European Art (previous member of staff)
Patricia Collins is Curator of Medieval & Renaissance European Art at Glasgow Museums, and is based at The Burrell Collection. Her remit covers the period circa 1000 to circa 1600, and relevant collections include paintings, sculpture, tapestry, stained glass, ceramics, glass, metalwork and furniture produced in Western Europe between these dates.
Patricia holds a BA (Hons.) joint degree in History and the History of Art from the University of London, an M.Phil. in Combined Historical Studies (The Renaissance) from the Warburg Institute, and the Museums Association diploma. Her interests are broad, but are currently centred on Medieval tapestries and Italian Renaissance arts - particularly the painted ceramics known as maiolica. She favours a multi-disciplinary approach to the study and display of all artefacts and associated materials which fall within the period of her curatorial remit.
