Curator of European Costume and Textiles
Rebecca Quinton joined Glasgow Museums in 2003 and is currently Curator of European Costume and Textiles (excluding medieval and Renaissance tapestries). Her current research interests include seventeenth and eighteenth century costume, seventeenth century needlework and the early cotton industry in Glasgow and surrounding area.
Rebecca studied English Literature at Royal Holloway, University of London and subsequently worked at the Building of Bath Museum and Blaise Castle House Museum, before gaining her PGDip in Museum Studies at the University of Leicester. Between 1997 and 2003 she worked at Brighton and Hove Museums where she co-curated the new gallery of Fashion & Style at Brighton Museum and Art Gallery.
