Curator of Social History
Isobel McDonald joined Glasgow Museums in 2005 as Project Manager on the Regional Framework for Local History and Archaeology in the west of Scotland. In 2008 she was appointed as Social History Curator with responsibility for the medical history, militaria, education, toy and sport collections.
Isobel graduated from Edinburgh University with a degree in archaeology, and subsequently took a post-graduate diploma in museum studies at Leicester University and completed a masters degree in business administration at Glasgow Caledonian University. She has worked in a number of museums including the British Museum, National Museums of Scotland, National Coal Mining Museum for England and Summerlee Heritage Park. She was also a curator on The Glasgow Story website from 2002-2004.
