Researching Glasgow Museums' Collections
As well as giving a description of the collections and selected objects, the Collections Navigator also acts as an entry point for those wishing to see and research parts of the collection further.
Seeing Collections and Objects
If you would like to see collections / objects at Glasgow Museums Resource Centre you can book a place on one of the many themed tours on offer which run daily from 2.30pm to 3.30pm or, if you are a member of a community or any other group, you can organise a group tour or activity specially created to meet the needs and interests of your party.
Researching Collections and Objects
Glasgow Museums Resource Centre also offers facilities and support for those wishing to research parts of the collection further, whether for personal interest or academic purposes. The ‘research potential’ of many of the collections has already been identified by curators and 'significance documents' are associated with many of the collections on the Collections Navigator. More information on the significance documents, including downloadable PDFs, can be accessed on the main Glasgow Museums website.
Booking to see collections and objects can be done through the descriptions on the Collections Navigator. Simply click on the link (where it exists) for the Glasgow Museums Resource Centre location and you will be taken to the booking page with the collection/ object reference (see below).
