Large metal bell with ornate loops at top which was not cast in Glasgow, but in Holland in the mid 16th century. The bell originally hung in the Tolbooth Steeple at Old Glasgow Cross in Glasgow.

Cast in relief of the bell is a legend, possibly in Flemish "KATHELINA BEN GHEGOTEN VAN IACOP WAGHEVENS INT IAER ONS HEEREN MCCCCCLIIII" (translates roughly as "I am Kathelina cast by Jacob Waghevens in Heren in the year of our Lord 1554") above four medallions. The medallions feature a male saint standing holding cross; a coat of arms (possibly the city arms of Heeren) of horizontal striped shield with smaller shield in centre with spread winged eagle, supported by a pair of griffins; female figure with sword (possibly Justice) and a bishop with grail.
