It is probable that these three panels were a personal selection by the purchaser from Margaret Henderson Wilson's patterns book of individual designs. The rose tree design on either side of the panel is known to reappear on other objects such as brass mirrors or sconces from her studio. Many Glasgow Style motifs are featured in these three repousse tin panels - the woman in romantic medieval dress, butterflies, heart-shaped leaves and lines of natural growth. Henderson Wilson's treatment of the rose differs from that of other Glasgow Style designers. Her tightly constructed roses swirl out like Catherine wheels from the centre of the flower and are encased by two petals that are just starting to unfurl.
