Limestone stela from the tomb of Mereri. The hieroglyphs inscribed on this piece identify Mereri as a governor, overseer of the priests and keeper of secrets for the seal-bearer of the king. The stela ensures that he will receive magical offerings of bread and beer to sustain him in the afterlife.
