Description

This armchair was designed for Miss Cranston's Argyle Street tearooms by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. An armchair for use in a smoking and billiards room needs to be well constructed and suitable for heavy use. Mackintosh lightened the solid wood with cut-out arcs on the sides, and a heart-shaped seat.
