The Delftfield Pottery was founded in 1748 by Laurence and Robert Dinwiddie, who were tobacco merchants at the time. The factory was located near the Broomielaw Quay in Anderston, Glasgow. They predominately produced delftware to begin with with soon expanded its products to include stoneware, earthenware and, by 1800, bone china. In 1810 the company took over the Caledonian Pottery and moved its business there. It stopped trading in 1824.
