Gifted by Sir William and Lady Burrell to the City of Glasgow, 1944. Sir William's collection of stained glass is one of the largest and most comprehensive in the world. This modest panel seemingly represents one of his very earliest stained glass acquisitions, appearing in photographs of the library of his family home of 8 Great Western Terrace, taken c.1902-1903.
The item was published in William Wells, Stained and Painted Heraldic Glass, Burrell Collection, 1962, no. 34.
