Description

Stained glass heraldic shield of Canterbury, Priory of Christ Church, impaling Edmund Gryndal, Archbishop of Canterbury, 1576-1583. Identical with accession number 45.208.

Edmund Grindal (c.1519-1583) was Bishop of London, Archbishop of York and Archbishop of Canterbury.

The item was published in William Wells, Stained and Painted Heraldic Glass, Burrell Collection, 1965, no. 63.
