Man's coat or hunting coat in red or scarlet wool broadcloth (known as hunting pink). Turned down collar faced in dark purple-brown silk velvet, with red lapels. Double-breasted with slightly v-shaped rows of six brass buttons, each embossed with a crown surrounded by a laurel wreath, stamped on the back ‘Firmin and Sons, London’. Fronts cut horizontally slightly above the waistline. Shoulder seams dropped back to give appearance of a narrow back. Collar and shoulders stiffened. Long fitted sleeves, slightly gathered into shoulder, fastening with two small brass buttons at wrist with small cuff. Tails pleated at back waist decorated with two brass buttons at waist and two at the bottom of the tails.
