Amphibians

Comments

Glasgow Museums has a small collection of approximately 100 amphibian specimens. These date from the early 1800s to the present.

This collection includes frogs, toads, newts, salamanders, and a single example of a caecilian. These are mainly British amphibians, but also include examples from mainland Europe, India, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, Mexico and North and South America. Most specimens in the collection are preserved in spirit. The rest are osteological specimens (skeletons), and a few mounted specimens and casts.
