Glasgow Museums has a collection of more than 150 owl specimens and numerous eggs. These date from 1810 to 2005.

This collection represents owls (Strigidae) and barn owls (Tytonidae). It includes around 58 mounted specimens, 72 skins, nine skeletons, eggs and several owl pellets. Nearly all the specimens are from Scotland, but there are also examples from England, Ireland, Finland, Sweden, Greenland, Chile, Ethiopia, Malawi, Kenya and New Zealand. Highlights include a pair of snowy owls mounted by taxidermist Rowland Ward.
