Motor Buses

Comments

Glasgow Museums has a collection of two motor buses dating from 1948-1959 and operated by Glasgow Corporation Transport. Motorbus use began in Glasgow in the 1920s and Glasgow Corporation Transport began operating vehicles soon after. Motor buses, powered by diesel or petrol powered internal combustion engines, were viewed as an improvement to the city’s tram services. Motor buses could easily move through traffic as they were not limited to the routes of tram tracks.
