Glasgow Museums has a collection of approximately 30 items relating to dentistry in Glasgow which date broadly from the Scottish Bronze Age to the late 20th century. This collection holds a range of objects from dental equipment to photographs. Items include four sets of protective dentist's covers, two brass door plaques and a set of seven dental instruments used in a Gorbals practice. There is also a lower set of false teeth, a button badge with the slogan 'Dentists make smiles better', a dentist's chair and an enamel sign for a practice at Glasgow Cross. It also includes a wooden cabinet containing dental equipment, a leaded and painted dentist's window, and a stained glass panel advertising 'McArthur Baxter/LDS/Dental Surgeon'. The collection also contains a dental health film used at Bluevale School, Haghill, and a booklet and souvenir programme celebrating the centenary of, and fundraising pageant for, the Glasgow Dental Hospital. The collection also contains a set of photographs showing Bronze Age teeth found in the east end of Glasgow which appear to have had dental work in antiquity.
