Glasgow Museums has a collection of approximately 300 items relating to Glasgow pharmacies which date from between 1900 and 1968. This collection includes glass jars and bottles, medications, leaflets and packaging, display cabinets, signs and lighting, storage drawers, prescription books, notebooks, fixtures and fittings, weighing scales and other items used in preparing and packaging medication. Many of these items come from chemist's shops, in particular Scatchard of Pollokshaws Road and J Drummond of Dalmarnock Road. The collection also has a number of objects connected to hospital pharmacies, including the Victoria Infirmary, Mearnskirk Hospital and Gartnavel Royal Hospital.
