Glasgow Museums has a collection of approximately 175 items related to issues and campaigns in Glasgow which date from between 1834 and 2005. This collection contains banners, photographs, portraits, paintings, badges, ceramics, leaflets, posters, T-shirts, mugs, invitations and a collecting box. Its focus is on the various social justice campaigns and issues set in Glasgow, or in which Glasgow people have been involved, that are not already covered by suffrage and parliamentary reform, temperance, trade unionism, the anti-war movement and pacifism and women's rights. The collection has objects related to anti-slavery, anti-apartheid, anti-poll tax movements, the People's March for Jobs 1983, the Spanish Civil War (1936–9) and the Make Poverty History campaign of 2005. The largest amount of material is related to the anti-poll tax movement.
