Glasgow Museums has a collection of material used by railway staff as part of their jobs. This collection is focused mainly on Scottish railway companies but does include some material from other companies based in England. There are three distinct areas cover; station staff, train crew and office staff. Station staff includes material such as uniform, badges, lamps and bells. Train crew includes items such as uniform, badges and shovels. Office staff includes items such as director's passes, writing equipment and office furnishings. The collection dates from the 1830s until the 1990s.
