Horse-drawn Goods Vehicles

Comments

Glasgow Museums has a collection of approximately ten horse-drawn goods vehicles and accessories. These include: a baker’s van, whisky lorry, butcher’s beef barrow, ice-cream cart, flat cart, and a farm wagon. These objects were used by tradesmen in Scotland to transport their goods and would have been pulled by one horse. The whiskey lorry is the largest example, and the butcher’s beef barrow the smallest.
