Glasgow Museums has a significant collection of over 120 works on paper and paintings produced by Jessie Marion King (1875–1949). These date from the late 19th to the early 20th century. This collection includes a wide range of works on paper or vellum from illustrated books, drawings, prints, greeting cards, printed books, invitations and fabric designs to documentary material including certificates, letters, photographs, programmes and modern printed matter and reproductions. It predominantly includes work in pen and ink, watercolour or printed ink. Printed material includes 14 exhibition invites, 12 bookplates, 24 greetings cards, two menu cards, 12 books and three designs for The Glasgow School of Art. It also contains 19 original photographs and postcards showing Jessie or her work and five posters. Drawn material includes one poster design, three examples of margin decoration for books, two textile designs for Liberty of London, six drawings, three watercolours – including landscapes from Arran – an autograph book with an illustrated signature by Jessie and one gouache painting entitled The Frog Prince. Ephemera and contemporary material includes a handwritten lecture, a letter, the certificate awarded to King at the International D'arte Decoration Moderna, Turin 1902 and an assortment of greetings cards reproductions produced since the 1980s.
