Glasgow Museums has a modest collection of Modern and Contemporary sculptures by Scottish artist dating from 1945 to 2000. The collection holds recognised Scottish practitioners such as Benno Schotz , Eduardo Paolozzi, Ian Hamilton Finlay, Boyle Family, Jake Harvey, Jacki Parry and George Wyllie, are represented alongside a variety of Scottish sculptors with a diversity of practices.
 Many sculptural works were bought leading up to GoMA’s opening in 1996 by artist such as Nicola Hicks, Sean Read and the Russian born but Scottish based Sharmanka. The late 1990’s saw Glasgow Museums collecting early works of Scottish artist such as Christine Borland and Kenny Hunter who went on to have exceptional careers in the 2000’s.
