Modern and Contemporary Scottish Painting post 2000

Comments

Glasgow Museums has a collection of paintings that date from 2002 to the present day. This collection includes paintings purchased by the Contemporary Art Purchase Panel (CAPP), which was established in 2002 with the aim of acquiring work by Glasgow-based artists at different stages of their careers. The works in this collection, therefore, all have a strong connection to Glasgow acquired with the purpose of acknowledging The Glasgow School of Art graduates in particular. These include paintings by Victoria Morton, Hanneline Visnes, and Toby Paterson. Recent acquisitions through the Contemporary Art Fund supported by National Fund for Acquisitions, Art Fund and Contemporary Art Society have continued this connection to Glasgow with acquisitions of work by Carol Rhodes, France Lise McGurn and Rabiya Choudhry.
