Glasgow Museums has a relatively small collection of Contemporary period archaeology; that is, archaeological objects dating to the very recent past from around the Second World War until the present day. The collection consists primarily of a small assemblage of artefacts dating to the 1940s, excavated at the site of a prisoner of war camp and certain parts of the excavation assemblages from the M74 completion works that relate to mid-late 20th century occupation of the excavated sites.
