Toy railway locomotive models

A collection of mass-produced railway locomotives models. Most of the objects are from the firms of Triang or Hornby. Many railway companies are represented, from Scottish railways such as the Caledonian Railway, examples from the ‘Big Four’ privatised companies of 1922-1948 like the London, Midland and Scottish (LMS) and examples from British Railways. Many of these models came as part of a layout of Carlisle Citadel Station and so represent railway companies active at this location.
