Glasgow Museums has a collection of approximately 310 objects representing British Members of Parliament: 32 represent people elected to represent Scottish seats outside Glasgow ( Ayr, South Ayrshire, Hamilton, Renfrewshire West, Renfrewshire, Stirling Burgh, West Fife), 258 for Glaswegian seats ( Anniesland, Bridgeton, Camlachie, Cathcart, Central, Craigton, Garscadden, Glasgow Burgh, Govan, Hillhead, Kelvin, Kelvingrove, Maryhill, Shettleston, Springburn, Tradeston, Pollok, Rutherglen ) and another 19 for seats in England. The collection generally categorised history and archive. The range of objects representing Members of Parliament varies from photographs to campaigning promotional material made for elections or commemorative medals and plaques to mark support and appreciation for public services. The earliest representations date to the 1700s and are for Glasgow Burgh. The most modern date to the 1992 General Election campaign for the Glasgow Central seat.
