Glasgow Museums has a collection of approximately 70 objects about the city of Dunfermline, in the kingdom of Fife, Scotland which correspond to history, art, industry and transport. About 23 are relevant to the Scottish history collection and its categories of Scottish government and literature. Scottish government is represented through objects representing the Church of Scotland mostly through communion tokens as well as monarchy and local government. The city’s economy is represented through objects representing its businesses and industries categorised as tools and transport. Scottish literature is represented through three objects which are programmes for music performances. There is also a collection of objects of topographic art representing Dunfermline with a focus on its medieval Abbey. Most of the collection dates to from the late 18th to 20th centuries.
