Glasgow Museums has a collection of approximately 52 objects about the town of Kirkcaldy, in the kingdom of Fife, Scotland which correspond to history, art and industry. About 10 are relevant to the Scottish history collection and its categories of Scottish government and literature. Scottish government is represented through objects representing the Church of Scotland through communion tokens as well as local government. The city’s economy is represented through objects representing its businesses and industries and especially pottery. Scottish literature is represented through two jugs illustrating Robert Burns’ Tam O’Shanter. Most of the collection dates from the 19thth and 20th centuries.
