Description

Frances Madonald was born in 1873. She, together with her sister Margaret, studied at the Glasgow School of Art 1891-4, and in 1899 married Herbert Macnair, changing her name to Frances Macdonald MacNair. On the Macnairs' return from Liverpool in 1909, where Herbert had been teaching architecture at the University Art School, Frances was appointed assistant instructress in both the embroidery department and the Saturday classes at Glasgow School of Art. She continued in this post until 1911. Frances died in 1921.
