Heather Robertson is the Senior Curator for History at Glasgow Museums, responsible for collections related to communications technology, optical technology, domestic and work technology, prams, horse-drawn vehicles, agricultural vehicles, and disability transport, including wheelchairs and disability road vehicles.
Heather joined Glasgow Museums in 2006 as a Riverside Project Research Assistant, coming from the Scottish Maritime Museum. She became Project Curator in 2008, curating several displays and overseeing image acquisition and copyright clearance for the new Riverside Museum. Since then, she has curated numerous exhibitions, with a particular focus on co-curated community displays.
Her academic background includes undergraduate studies in photography -BA (Hons) Photography in the Arts, and psychotherapy - Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Group Work, and Postgraduate Diploma in Humanities. She also holds certifications in British Sign Language, Picture Research, Facilitation, and Counselling.
Heather has a strong interest in enabling technologies, such as wheelchairs and communication devices like hearing aids, talking phones, and assistive software applications.
