Description

Painting depicting an address by William Gladstone to a crowd in the Theatre Royal, Glasgow, as part of his 1892 campaign. Depicts Gladstone standing with spread arms, holding his speech in his left hand, and wearing a grey suit with a flower in his button hole. Theatre curtains to the left, and a man sitting beside him is facing the artist. Signed in the bottom left corner in red, W. A. Donnelly, 1899.
