Irish born artist, illustrator and embroiderist who became a member of the Arts and Crafts movement in Scotland. She was also the first woman elected to the Royal Scottish Academy in 1920. She also worked on large scale mural projects such as those for the Mortuary Chapel of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh. Her best known work is in the Mansfield Place Church, Edinburgh.
