Description

Glasgow Corporation tramcar 1089, 'Bailie Burt'. This experimental single deck car entered service in 1926 and was intended to run between Paisley and Airdrie. Due to slow loading of passengers caused by the narrow entrances the experiment was deemed a failure and this was the only example of this type of tram built. Its nickname comes from the Convenor of the Tramways Committees at the time, Bailie Peter Burt.
