Glasgow Museums has a collection of objects that illustrate the concept of cultural colonialism in the context of the British Empire, and the mechanisms by which Britain’s influence was extended through the systematic subordination of indigenous cultural identities by means of imposed education systems, religion and segregation.
We are currently working on a fuller description of this collection area which will be published on this page as soon as possible.
