European Stained Glass before 1603

Comments

Glasgow Museums has a large and internationally significant collection of medieval and Renaissance stained glass, mostly originating from northern European countries, including England, Germany, France, The Netherlands and Switzerland. The majority of this collection, over 800 pieces, was donated to the City of Glasgow by Sir William and Lady Burrell in 1944. Sir William continued to expand the collection until his death in 1958, building one of the most comprehensive collections of stained glass in the world.
