Modern and Contemporary British Art post 2000

Comments

Glasgow Museums has a collection of British artworks that date from 2000 to the present. These holdings include paintings, sculptures, moving image, installations and works on paper, including photography. Through a contemporary art fund and fundraising activities, the holdings of British contemporary artwork post 2000 is growing to reflect the broad practices of artists working across the UK today. The collection holds works by John Akomfrah, Charlotte Prodger, Barby Asante and Aaron Angell alongside works on paper by artists such as Kennard Phillips, Ajamu and Lucy Skaer. As we are based in Scotland there is a focus on work made by artists who were born, have trained, lived and worked here. For more information on this area of the collection please see Modern and Contemporary Scottish Art 1945 -2000.
